New and Notable
Training Camp Day 4: Padded Practice Date Set and Injury Updates
- Ahead of practice No. 4 of camp, the 49ers waived CB Kemon Hall and signed WR Frank Darby.
- Several veteran players including TE George Kittle, DL Nick Bosa, CB Charvarius Ward, RB Christian McCaffrey, OL Jake Brendel, DL Maliek Collins, LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles and OL Spencer Burford returned to action following a veteran rest day.
- Head coach Kyle Shanahan shared that Burford broke his hand and is expected to miss two to three weeks, and the team is currently deciding whether or not the third-year offensive lineman should have surgery on the hand.
- Shanahan also noted that WR Ricky Pearsall, who started training camp on the Active/NFI list, has a "chance" to return to practice Monday. He has been rehabbing on the sidelines during the team's practices this week.
