2026 Mock Draft Monday 2.0: Pre-Free Agency Picks for the 49ers at No. 27

With the start of the new league year and the start of the NFL free agency period just days away, the San Francisco 49ers, like the rest of the league, are preparing for the next phase of the offseason.

While free agency will help shape roster needs across the league, the NFL Draft remains a key opportunity to add young talent. In this week's roundup, national analysts share who they currently project to San Francisco at No. 27 overall.

  • Monroe Freeling - OT, Georgia

"... Freeling would get a great opportunity to learn from the best before he's asked to take over at the position."

  • Spencer Fano - OL, Utah

"... I'm not sure the 49ers would allow him to get past them, considering the athletic talent and scheme fit he could provide at right tackle or a guard spot."

  • KC Concepcion - WR, Texas A&M

"The 49ers are at a crossroads at receiver. Their leading pass catcher at the position (Jauan Jennings) is set to be a free agent, veteran Brandon Aiyuk seems to be moving on, and 2024 first-round pick Ricky Pearsall is still looking for his footing in the offense. Concepcion is an explosive playmaker who has many traits that translate to success in coach Kyle Shanahan's scheme. Concepcion kicks it into gear on route stems and racks up plenty of big plays as a pass catcher and a return specialist."

  • Makai Lemon - WR, USC

"As a polished route runner with electric running skills, Lemon fits the 49ers mold of a WR1. The USC standout would add a playmaking element to the passing game that has been missing since the departures of Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk."

  • Omar Cooper Jr. - WR, Indiana

"We'll see what happens with Jauan Jennings in San Francisco, but Brandon Aiyuk may have played his last snap. As it stands, the WR room includes Ricky Pearsall, Demarcus Robinson, Jordan Watkins and Jacob Cowing under contract… and that's it. There's a need at guard too, but Cooper Jr. feels like a Kyle Shanahan-type receiver."

  • KC Concepcion - WR, Texas A&M

"San Francisco's receiving corps is in complete flux right now. George Kittle tore his Achilles in January, Brandon Aiyuk is set to be released and Jauan Jennings is a free agent. Concepcion paced the SEC with 48 receptions that went for either a first down or a touchdown in 2025 and is a dangerous player with the ball in his hands."
