49ers Opponents Set for the 2025 Season
In 2025, the 49ers will face all NFC West teams twice along with fellow fourth-place teams from the NFC North, NFC East and AFC North. The schedule will also include matchups with every team from the NFC South and AFC South.

The San Francisco 49ers kept each of their original draft picks and welcomed in eleven new players via the 2025 NFL Draft, addressing positions of need on defense early. Free agency departures and cuts made the D-line the top priority for San Francisco, and, as a result, the team dedicated three of its first five picks to fortifying the trenches on the defensive side of the ball. They picked up edge rusher Mykel Williams with the 11th-overall pick, followed up with defensive tackles Alfred Collins in Round 2 and C.J. West in Round 4. All three are proven run-stoppers with lots of pass-rushing upside.

The San Francisco 49ers came away from the 2025 NFL Draft with an 11-man draft class that largely addressed positions of need on the roster. For the first time during their tenure, president of football operations/general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan opened up the draft with five-straight defensive picks before opting to add depth at wide receiver, running back, quarterback, and the offensive line on Day 3. Six of the 49ers 11 picks were dedicated to the defense with three of those focused on fortifying the D-line.
