Christian McCaffrey Named PFWA Comeback Player of the Year
Awards season continues for the San Francisco 49ers, and All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey has earned another prestigious honor from the Pro Football Writers of America. McCaffrey was selected as the PFWA’s 2025 NFL Comeback Player of the Year after returning to elite form after a shortened 2024 campaign.

McCaffrey, Shanahan Named AP Award Finalists Following 2025 Season
The Associated Press announced finalists for eight of its 2025 NFL awards on Thursday, and the San Francisco 49ers were well represented after a productive season. Running back Christian McCaffrey earned finalist nods for three awards, while head coach Kyle Shanahan was named a finalist for AP Coach of the Year.
