Morning Report: Taking a Closer Look at 2025 TEU 🗞️

Good Morning, Faithful,

Here are your top 49ers storylines for Friday, June 27th:

New and Notable

49ers Tight Ends Hit the Field at 2025 Tight End University

Professor of tight ends George Kittle has checked into the fifth annual Tight End University. This week, the San Francisco 49ers star tight end is once again taking the field in Nashville, Tennessee alongside co-founders Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce and former Pro Bowler Greg Olsen.

During the three-day learning summit, Kittle is joined by fellow 49ers tight ends Luke Farrell, Brayden Willis, Mason Pline, and QB Mac Jones. The Niners will come together with over 70 tight ends from around the league for film study, on-field drills, and mentorship.

Gronkowski Calls Kittle 'By Far' the Best Tight End in the NFL | Off the Field

Rob Gronkowski knows what greatness looks like at the tight end position. In a recent appearance on Hot Ones Versus alongside former teammate WR Danny Amendola, the four-time Super Bowl champion made it clear who holds the top spot in the NFL: George Kittle.

"All right, this is easy. I'm going to answer totally: George Kittle by far," Gronkowski said when asked to rank the top tight ends in the league today. "He was All-Pro last year. He had over 1,000 yards, he had over 10 touchdowns. He's the best in the game right now. So that's an easy number one."

'There's Opportunity Out There': John Lynch on the 49ers WR Room

The wide receiver room isn't stalled while waiting for sixth-year veteran Brandon Aiyuk to return, it's evolving in his absence.

With their All-Pro receiver sidelined after suffering ACL and MCL injuries last October, the 49ers have turned to a mix of seasoned players and promising newcomers to shape the identity of the unit. President of football operations and general manager John Lynch sees a group ready to respond.
