San Francisco 49ers safety Ji'Ayir Brown has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week following his standout performance in the team's 20-9 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
Brown finished the night with five tackles and two interceptions of Panthers quarterback Bryce Young, marking his first takeaways of the season and bringing his career total to five in the Week 12 win over Carolina. His two-interception performance was the first multi-interception game by a 49ers player since former cornerback Charvarius Ward had two takeaways against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15 in 2023.
Brown's takeaways helped power a dominant defensive performance, as San Francisco held Carolina to just one conversion on seven third down attempts (14.3 percent). It marks the lowest opponent third down conversion rate allowed by the 49ers since holding the Miami Dolphins to 0-of-7 on third down in Week 13 of the 2022 season.
