Eddy Piñeiro Named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Piñeiro has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October following a stretch of perfect performances through four games.

The veteran kicker was flawless in the month, converting all 10 of his field goal attempts and all six extra point tries. Piñeiro's reliability allowed consistent scoring for San Francisco, highlighted by back-to-back games with four field goals and a season-long 59-yard score in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams, the longest of his career and the second-longest in franchise history.

Throughout October, Piñeiro continued to write his name into the 49ers record books. His 17 consecutive field goals to start his career in The Bay surpassed former kicker Robbie Gould (15 in 2017) for the most by any kicker to begin their first season with the team. He also became the first 49ers kicker since Gould in 2017 to record four-or-more field goals in consecutive games.

Piñeiro's accuracy and consistency have made him a steady presence for San Francisco's special teams unit, earning him monthly league honors for the first time in his career.
