The San Francisco 49ers have secured stability at the kicking position, signing veteran kicker Eddy Piñeiro to a four-year contract extension after a standout 2025 season in The Bay.

Piñeiro originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders in 2018 and has spent time with the Chicago Bears, New York Jets, Carolina Panthers, and 49ers over the course of his six-year career. Since arriving in San Francisco in 2025, the veteran kicker has delivered one of the most efficient seasons by a kicker in franchise history.

  • His 96.6 percent field-goal percentage in 2025 ranks as the second-highest single-season mark in 49ers franchise history.
  • Piñeiro opened the 2025 season by making his first 25 consecutive field goals, the most by a kicker to begin their first season with the 49ers.
