Roster-building efforts for NFL franchises extend far beyond the league's annual draft weekend. Free agency signings, trades, and claiming players off waivers or practice squads are other ways that clubs can continue to round out their rosters throughout the year.
Shortly after selecting an 11-player draft class at the end of April, the San Francisco 49ers announced they agreed to terms with six undrafted rookie free agents, adding three more players to both the offensive and defensive units. These first-year players will have the same opportunity as their drafted counterparts to compete for a spot on the 49ers 2025 53-man roster.
