49ers EDU leverages the game of football and Levi's® Stadium as dynamic platforms to introduce students to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts and careers, sparking early excitement and engagement around learning. By providing standards-aligned physical and digital enrichment materials to students furthest from resources and opportunity, the program serves as a catalyst for building interest and developing STEAM literacy.
As a direct initiative of the 49ers Foundation, 49ers EDU has reached more than 600,000 Bay Area students and educators through both digital and in-person programming, with the majority of participants coming from Title I schools and historically underserved communities. As the first professional sports organization to champion STEAM education for youth and offer free onsite programming, 49ers EDU continuously evolves to reflect current concepts that support and enhance classroom learning. Guided by a board of local educational advisors, all programming is aligned to state Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards to reinforce leading instructional practices.
