49ers Sign DL Clelin Ferrell to the Practice Squad, Waive OL Drew Moss

The San Francisco 49ers today announced they have waived OL Drew Moss and signed DL Clelin Ferrell to the team's practice squad.

Ferrell (6-4, 265) was originally drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders as the fourth overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. Throughout his seven-year NFL career with the Raiders (2019-22), 49ers (2023), Washington Commanders (2024) and Los Angeles Chargers (2025), he has appeared in 90 games (57 starts) and registered 157 tackles, 12 passes defensed, 17.0 sacks, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Ferrell has also appeared in four postseason games and totaled four tackles and one pass defensed. In 2025, he appeared in one game with the Chargers and was released from their practice squad on October 14.

A 28-year-old native of Richmond, VA, Ferrell attended Clemson University for four years (2015-18) where he started all 44 games he appeared in and registered 166 tackles, 50 tackles for loss, 27.0 sacks, seven passes defensed, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. While at Clemson, Ferrell was a two-time All-American, a two-time National Champion and won the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year Award and the Ted Hendricks Award as a junior in 2018.

Moss (6-3, 303) appeared in five games after originally signing with the team as an undrafted free agent on April 27, 2025.
