49ers Sign OL Doug Kramer Jr., Release OL Nick Zakelj

The San Francisco 49ers today announced they have signed OL Doug Kramer Jr. to a one-year deal. In order to make room on the roster, the team released OL Nick Zakelj.

Kramer Jr. (6-2, 300) was originally drafted by the Chicago Bears in the sixth round (207th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. Throughout his four-year NFL career with the Bears (2022, 2024-25), Arizona Cardinals (2023) and Seattle Seahawks (2025), he has appeared in 18 games along the offensive line. In 2025, Kramer Jr. signed to the Seahawks practice squad on November 20 before he was released by the team on December 2.

A 28-year-old native of Hinsdale, IL, Kramer Jr. attended the University of Illinois for five seasons (2017-21) where he started in 48 games along the team's offensive line.

Zakelj (6-6, 316) signed a one-year extension with the team on February 18, 2026.
