The 2018 regular season has come to an end, but not without 49ers PREP announcing the High School Coach of the Year to Ryan Partridge, Head Coach of Liberty High School. Coach Partridge and the Liberty Lions finished the season off a perfect 10-0 and are competing for the Division I CIF State Championship game against Sierra Canyon in Southern California.

For winning the 49ers PREP Coach of the Year award coach Partridge, and the Liberty High School football program, will receive a grant from the 49ers Foundation! "This grant will be great for our program and will help us update, and purchase some much needed equipment!" said Partridge.

In addition, Coach Partridge will represent the San Francisco 49ers in Orlando, FL during Pro-Bowl week as the team's Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year. This award is presented annually to a high school football coach in the United States that displays the integrity, achievement, and leadership exemplified by the winningest coach in NFL history, Don Shula.

In his 2nd year at Liberty High School, Partridge has tallied a 23-3 record, and in 2018 has lead his team to the Division 1-A State Championship game, with a record of 12-1 after inheriting a 4-6 program in 2017. His Liberty football team has excelled on the field this season, scoring 41.3 points per game on offense, while only allowing an average of 13.6 points on defense. Not just the leader of the football program, Coach Partridge is also the athletic director, and teaches strength and conditioning classes. He enjoys working with the entire student athlete population year round across multiple sports. He is extremely passionate about health and wellness and teaching the necessary skills to live an active and healthy lifestyle.

Coach Partridge started his football career at Amador Valley in Pleasanton, CA. He earned a football scholarship to the University of Kentucky and later transferred to Northern Arizona where he finished his playing career. As a coach, Partridge has spent eight seasons patrolling the sidelines of high school football fields starting his career at Dougherty Valley High School and then on to Livermore High School before taking the head coaching job at Liberty High School in April of 2017.

We are excited to recognize Coach Ryan Partridge as our 49ers PREP Coach of the Year presented by U.S. Bank and look forward to him representing the San Francisco 49ers in Orlando. Good luck Coach Partridge!
