49ers Promote LB Eric Kendricks, Make Other Moves Ahead of Wild Card Matchup

The San Francisco 49ers announced they have promoted LB Eric Kendricks to the active roster from the team's practice squad. In order to make room on the roster, the team placed LB Tatum Bethune on the Injured Reserve List. In addition, the team signed LB Kyzir White to the practice squad, opened the practice window for WR Jacob Cowing (Injured Reserve List) and signed LB Milo Eifler to a Reserve/Future contract.

Kendricks (6-0, 232) was originally drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the second round (45th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. Throughout his 11-year career with the Vikings (2015-22), Los Angeles Chargers (2023), Dallas Cowboys (2024) and 49ers (2025), he has appeared in 150 games (143 starts) where he registered 1,180 tackles, 21.5 sacks, 11 interceptions (two returned for touchdowns), 60 passes defensed, eight forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries. He has also appeared in six postseason contests (all starts), tallying 43 tackles, seven passes defensed, 1.0 sack and one interception. In 2025, Kendricks signed to San Francisco's practice squad on November 26 where he has appeared in three games (one start) and registered six tackles with the team.

A 33-year-old native of Clovis, CA, Kendricks attended UCLA for five years (2010-14) where he appeared in 38 games and registered 405 tackles, 13 passes defensed, 8.0 sacks, five interceptions with one he returned for a touchdown, four forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.

Bethune (6-1, 230) appeared in 14 games (eight starts) and registered 91 tackles, four passes defensed and 1.0 sack this season.

White (6-2, 234) was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers in the fourth round (119th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. Throughout his eight-year career with the Chargers (2018-21), Philadelphia Eagles (2022), Arizona Cardinals (2023-24) and Tennessee Titans (2025), he has appeared in 93 games (73 starts) and registered 617 tackles, 23 passes defensed, 7.5 sacks, six interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He has also appeared in three postseason contests (one start) and totaled 11 tackles. In 2025, White signed to Tennessee's practice squad on September 3 where he appeared in one game and registered three tackles before he was released by the team on December 8.

A 29-year-old native of Macungie, PA, White attended Lackawanna College (2014-15) before transferring to the University of West Virginia (2016-17) where he appeared in 25 games and registered 152 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 12 passes defensed, four forced fumbles, 4.0 sacks, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries.

Eifler (6-2, 225) originally entered the NFL after signing with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2021. Throughout his four-year career with the Jets (2021), Miami Dolphins (2021), Washington Commanders (2021-23), Atlanta Falcons (2023-24) and Arizona Cardinals (2024-25), he has appeared in 17 games and totaled two tackles. In 2025, Eifler was released by the Cardinals on May 21.

A 27-year-old native of Berkeley, CA, Eifler attended the University of Washington (2016-17) before transferring to the University of Illinois (2018-20) where he appeared in 32 games and registered 96 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, two passes defensed and one fumble recovery.
