The NFL announced on Wednesday that 29 teams, including the San Francisco 49ers, will participate in joint practices during the 2025 preseason.
Teams are permitted to hold up to four joint practice sessions, typically in the lead-up to preseason matchups. Joint practices offer a competitive and controlled environment ahead of preseason games. This year, the 49ers will face off against two AFC West opponents in joint workouts:
- August 7: Hosting the Denver Broncos in Santa Clara, California
- August 14: Visiting the Las Vegas Raiders in Henderson, Nevada
This marks the second time in three years that the 49ers and Raiders will meet for joint practices, with the teams previously holding sessions in Las Vegas during the 2023 preseason.
Last year, the 49ers had joint practices scheduled with the New Orleans Saints in Irvine, California, but both teams mutually agreed to cancel the sessions.
