The San Francisco 49ers today announced they have signed CB Jack Jones and DL Cameron Sample to one-year deals.
Jones (5-11, 175) was originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round (121st overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. Throughout his four-year career with the Patriots (2022-23), Las Vegas Raiders (2023-24) and Miami Dolphins (2025), Jones has appeared in 58 games (38 starts) and registered 213 tackles, 33 passes defensed, eight interceptions, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. In 2025, he started all 17 games with Miami and tallied 77 tackles, six passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one interception.
A 28-year-old native of Long Beach, CA, Jones attended the University of Southern California (2016-17), Moorpark (CA) College (2018) and Arizona State University (2019-21) where he appeared in 52 career games and totaled 145 tackles, 29 passes defensed, 10 interceptions, five forced fumbles, 1.0 sack and one fumble recovery.
Sample (6-3, 272) was originally drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round (111th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. Throughout his five-year career with the Bengals (2021-25), Sample has appeared in 61 games (five starts) and registered 85 tackles, 7.0 sacks, one pass defensed and one forced fumble. He also appeared in six postseason contests and totaled four tackles, 1.0 sack and one pass defensed. In 2025, Sample appeared in 14 games (two starts) and totaled 17 tackles, 2.0 sacks and one forced fumble with Cincinnati.
A 26-year-old native of Snellville, GA, Sample attended Tulane University (2017-20) where he appeared in 46 games and registered 161 tackles, 10.5 sacks, seven passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
