49ers Announce Roster Moves

The San Francisco 49ers today announced that the team has signed DL Bradlee Anae, DL Bruce Hector, S Jaylen Mahoney, CB Fabian Moreau and OL Isaiah Prince to one year-deals. In order to make room on the roster, the team waived CB Tre Avery, WR Isaiah Neyor, QB Tanner Mordecai and TE Mason Pline and released K Greg Joseph.

Anae (6-4, 260) was originally drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round (179th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. Throughout his five-year career with the Cowboys (2020-22), New York Jets (2022-25) and Atlanta Falcons (2024), he has appeared in 11 games and registered two tackles. In 2024, Anae signed to the Jets practice squad on December 18, 2024, where he spent the remainder of season.

A 26-year-old native of Lale, HI, Anae attended the University of Utah for four years (2016-2019) where he appeared in 47 games and totaled 135 tackles, 30.0 sacks, six forced fumbles, four passes defensed and two fumble recoveries.

Hector (6-2, 296) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent on May 11, 2018. Throughout his seven-year career with the Eagles (2018-20), Arizona Cardinals (2019), Carolina Panthers (2020-21), Tennessee Titans (2021), Detroit Lions (2021-23), Houston Texans (2023) and New York Jets (2023-24), he has appeared in 22 games (one start) and registered 21 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He has also appeared in one postseason contest. In 2024, Hector appeared in six games and totaled 10 tackles and 1.0 sack with the Jets.

A 30-year-old native of Tampa, FL Hector attended the University of South Florida for four years (2014-17) where he appeared in 42 games and registered 90 tackles, 18.0 sacks, three passes defensed and two forced fumbles.

Mahoney (5-11, 200) originally entered the NFL after signing as an undrafted free agent with the 49ers on May 6, 2024. After being waived by the team on August 27, 2024, he was signed back to the team's practice squad the following day. He appeared in three games with the team in 2024 and was waived by the team on July 31, 2025.

A 24-year-old native of Rock Hill, SC, Mahoney attended the University of Vanderbilt for five years (2019-23) where he appeared in 54 games (45 starts) and registered 247 tackles, 4.0 sacks, 22 passes defensed, four interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Moreau (6-0, 204) was originally drafted by the Washington Commanders in the third round (81st overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. Throughout his eight-year career with the Commanders (2017-20), Atlanta Falcons (2021), New York Giants (2022), Denver Broncos (2023) and Minnesota Vikings (2024), he has appeared in 113 games (56 starts) and registered 293 tackles, 43 passes defensed, seven interceptions, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. In 2024, Moreau signed with the Vikings on July 31, 2024, and went on to appear in seven games where he registered seven tackles and one pass defensed.

A 31-year-old native of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Moreau attended UCLA for five years (2012-16) where he appeared in 51 games and registered 148 tackles, 25 passes defensed, three interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He earned All-Pac-12 honors twice in his career (Second-Team – 2014; Honorable Mention – 2013).

Prince (6-7, 305) was originally drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the sixth round (202nd overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft. Throughout his four-year career with the Dolphins (2019), Cincinnati Bengals (2021), Atlanta Falcons (2023) and Tennessee Titans (2024), he has appeared in 22 games (six starts). He has also started in four postseason contests with the Bengals in 2021. In 2024, Prince was signed to the Titans practice squad on October 22 after being released from the Falcons. He would go on to appear in one game with the Titans.

A 28-year-old native of Greenbelt, MD, Prince attended Ohio State University for four years (2015-18) where he appeared in 54 games (41 starts). He was twice named All-Big Ten (First-Team – 2018; Third-Team – 2017) and was a member of a Buckeyes team that won consecutive Big Ten Championships (2017-18).

Avery (5-11, 185) originally signed to the team on December 30, 2024, Mordecai (6-2, 218) originally signed to the team on May 6, 2024, Neyor (6-4, 218) originally signed to the team on April 27, 2025, Pline (6-7, 260) originally signed to the team on May 6, 2024 and Joseph (6-0, 208) originally signed to the team on May 19, 2025.
