It's time to mark your calendars, Faithful! The San Francisco 49ers are set to play each of the three teams they faced during their 2023 playoff run, the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs, in the upcoming season. Of course, none of this is new information - based on the guidelines used to construct the anatomy of the NFL schedule each year, these three playoff rematches were a sure thing based on how the 2023 regular season panned out.
As winners of the NFC West, the 49ers were slated to take on the winners of the AFC West, the Chiefs, and the four-year divisional rotation had them facing every team in the NFC North in 2024, which includes both the Lions and Packers. However, we now know when these playoff rematches will take place over the course of the 18-week NFL schedule. In total, San Francisco will face a total of eight playoff teams this season - that list includes the Los Angeles Rams, Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Week 7: Chiefs vs. 49ers

The 49ers will host the reigning Super Bowl champs for a regular season meeting in Week 7. This marks the second regular season meeting between these two teams in three seasons. The last time the Chiefs touched down in The Bay was in Week 7 of 2022, which was also running back Christian McCaffrey's debut as a 49ers player. This is another marquee matchup on the calendar for the 49ers who have developed an exciting playoff rivalry with Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and company.
Week 12: 49ers at Packers

The last meeting between these two teams came in the NFC Divisional Round Game at Levi's® Stadium on January 20 and ended in a 24-21 victory for San Francisco. The Packers and 49ers have seen each other a lot in recent history with at least one matchup, either in the regular season or playoffs, in each of the last six seasons, excluding 2022. The 49ers haven't made the trek to Lambeau Field since the NFC Divisional Round Game in January of 2022 and haven't played in Green Bay during the regular season since 2018.
Week 17: Lions vs. 49ers
Date: Dec. 30 at 5:15 pm PST on ESPN/ABC*
The most recent Lions-49ers clash is hard to forget with San Francisco's 34-31 victory in the conference championship securing their spot in Super Bowl LVIII. That game was a tale of two halves in which the 49ers outscored the Lions 27-7 in the second half to secure the victory. The last regular season matchup between San Francisco and the Lions was played at Ford Field to kick off the 2021 season.
