With the regular season complete, the league's schedule formula now reveals all of the San Francisco 49ers opponents for next year. While the full 2026 schedule with dates and kickoff times will not be released until the spring, the conclusion of the season finalizes who the 49ers will face.
Most of San Francisco's 2026 opponents were already determined by the NFL's rotational schedule. In addition to facing their NFC West rivals twice, the 49ers are slated to play all four teams from the NFC East and AFC West next season.
The remaining three games were determined by San Francisco's third-place finish in the NFC West, resulting in matchups against fellow third-place teams from the NFC North, AFC East, and NFC South.
