Your Biggest Week 3 Questions vs. Arizona, Answered

The Faithful had questions, and I've got the answers.

Each week throughout the season, fans will have the chance to submit their questions on Instagram, and I'll answer them here in this dedicated Q&A series. It's an opportunity to hear directly from the Faithful and highlight the storylines you care about most.

After back-to-back road games to start the season, the 49ers now return home for their 2025 Levi's® Stadium debut against the Arizona Cardinals. Let's dive into your questions!

Q: How are the injured guys doing? – @max_dm29

The 49ers are working through a handful of injuries heading into Week 3. Here are some updates as of Thursday: OL Spencer Burford (knee) and WR Jauan Jennings (ankle/shoulder) have not practiced so far this week. DL Yetur Gross-Matos (knee), FB Kyle Juszczyk (concussion), and DB Siran Neal (concussion) were all limited on Thursday's practice. WR Jordan Watkins (calf) and T Trent Williams (knee/vet day) were also limited. On a positive note, rookie RB Jordan James (finger) was a full participant all week.

As for QB Brock Purdy (shoulder/toe), he's been limited in practice but said he's encouraged by the progress: "It's been a day-to-day thing this week, and I feel like I'm happy with the progress that I've been making with my foot and toe. So more than anything, it's just going to be a day-to-day thing on how I feel."

Q: What was the best moment in Week 2 for LB Fred Warner?! – @zsombi_mlnr58

Easy one: Warner's third-quarter forced fumble against Saints RB Alvin Kamara. Not only did it stall the Saints drive, but it also tied him with Hall of Famer Patrick Willis for the most forced fumbles (16) in franchise history. That play highlighted Warner's Week 2 performance that earned him NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors after finishing with 11 tackles, a pass breakup, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

Q: Color jersey for Sunday? – @kliq49

The 49ers will be rocking the full '94 throwback look this Sunday: white jerseys, white pants, and the classic '94 throwback helmet.

Q: Bang bang do you guys love when fans show up in away games? – @ed_win831_

Absolutely!! The Faithful travel better than any fan base in the league. You could hear 49ers chants echoing through the Superdome in Week 2. Upcoming fan invasions are already being organized for Houston in Week 8 and New York in Week 9. Check out more information on the 49ers Invasions here.

Q: How do you feel about this defense and where will it rank end of the season? – @9ermancha

Through two games, this defense has been everything you'd hope for: fast, physical, and opportunistic. Warner and Dee Winters are flying around at linebacker, while Nick Bosa and Bryce Huff have been setting the tone off the edge. I've also loved seeing rookies Mykel Williams and Upton Stout step in and contribute right away. And when it's mattered most, the defense has closed out both wins. Bosa sealed it in Seattle with a late sack and fumble recovery, and Huff finished the job in New Orleans with a strip-sack. It's still early, but this group has the pieces to be the best in the league… and of course, I already think they are the best in the world.

Q: How's the team feeling so far coming up towards this Week 3 matchup at home? – @abdulla.majeed_17

The vibe is strong. After two gritty road wins, players are fired up for their Levi's® Stadium debut and the chance to feed off of the home crowd.

Q: What are some keys for the 49ers to get a win over Arizona? – @dukeboy10000

It starts with limiting QB Kyler Murray's ability to extend plays. Offensively, establishing the run early and protecting the football will be critical. It's these divisional matchups that matter most!

Q: Anything special for the home opener? – @zepolila

Yes, fans can definitely expect some fun on Sunday! Corgi races aren't just a one-time thing anymore, they're now at every home game. First up this Sunday: Piccadilly vs. Bad Benni, with the winner moving on in the Corgi Cup. On top of that, the 49ers are celebrating Latino Heritage Month with Latino music all game long and a special cumbia halftime show. Frankie J is set to sing the national anthem, and the U.S. Navy's VFA-2 Bounty Hunters will wow the crowd with a pregame flyover.
