The two teams that could potentially be battling for NFC West supremacy will face off in the highly-anticipated Week 7 matchup when the San Francisco 49ers host the Los Angeles Rams. Adam Schein of NFL.com ranked this "Sunday Night Football" battle as his top prime-time matchup of 2018, and 49ers fans couldn't agree more.
The Rams are coming off of a breakout season after posting their first winning record since 2003. Head coach Sean McVay led the Rams to an 11-5 record and an NFC West Championship. Los Angeles also boasted the league's top-ranked offense headlined by Jared Goff and Todd Gurley.
That high-scoring group added former New England Patriots receiver Brandin Cooks into the fold. Los Angeles didn't stop there, bolstering its defense with a trio of noteworthy acquisitions in Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib and Ndamukong Suh.
Many national pundits expect this matchup to reignite the So-Cal vs. Nor-Cal rivalry with a high-profile head coach and franchise quarterback on each sideline. This will be the first time that Jimmy Garoppolo will see the vaunted Rams defense at full strength since Los Angeles rested all of its starters in last year's season finale. Should San Francisco remain above water after a grueling stretch to open the season, there will be no shortage of hype entering this prime-time affair.
Former members of the 49ers will be in attendance for San Francisco's alumni game. In addition, San Francisco will reveal their long-awaited throwback-inspired uniforms from the 1994 Super Bowl season. The 49ers all-white uniforms were introduced at the team's State of the Franchise back in May and will make their timely debut in front of a national audience.
Levi's® Stadium will be glowing for the team's first-ever "white out" game. Every fan in attendance for the NFC West showdown will receive a limited edition Levi's® throwback inspired t-shirt. Grab your tickets here.
