Brown has a unique nick- name, 'Tig'. "It started from Winnie the Pooh," Brown said. "When I was a baby, I used to bounce around a lot, not even a year old on my mom's lap, and she started calling me Tigger the Tiger. As I got older, it started to stick with me, and I just like, 'You know what? Let's chop a couple of letters off, call me Tig. Everybody start call- ing me Tig and it's just been like my real name. It's been a substitute for my real name since I was a baby."
Brown teamed up with Chicago Bears S Jaquan Brisker in the sec- ondary at both Lackawanna Community College (Scranton, PA) and Penn State. "They brought about as much attention to Lacka- wanna College in a week that's probably ever happened in this school's history," Lackawanna head coach Mark Duda said after each came up with an interception in a 2021 win over Wisconsin. "Having them together, it was like poetry in motion watching them play off of each other," said Penn State defensive coordinator An- thony Poindexter. "You could tell they had played somewhere together. They just had this chemistry, man. They knew what the other was doing."

Appeared in 35 games (26 starts) in three years (2020-22) at Penn State and registered 153 tackles, 19 PDs, 10 INTs, 9.0 TFLs, 4.5 sacks, 3 FFs and 3 FRs after transferring from Lackawanna Community College (Scranton, PA) where he spent two seasons (2018-19). In 2022, started all 13 games at S and notched 74 tack- les, 7.0 TFLs, 4.5 sacks, 2 FFs and 1 FR, earning Third-Team All-Big Ten honors for the second-consecutive season. In 2021, started all 13 games at S and tallied 73 tackles, 11 PDs, 6 INTs, 2 FRs and 1 FF, earning Third-Team All-Big Ten honors. Appeared in 9 games as a junior in 2020 and posted 6 tackles and 1 PD. Helped guide Lackawanna to a 21-1 record and a trip to the NJCAA Champion- ship Game during his 2 years with the team.
