Sean Kundu is in his 13th season with the San Francisco 49ers, where he oversees corporate
development for the team's affiliated businesses including the co-founding and incubating of
Elevate, as well as overseeing the legal affairs of 49ers Enterprises, including its investment in
and control transactions of Leeds United and Rangers FC. Kundu was also instrumental in
launching VenueNext and led the sale of the company to Shift4 Payments in 2021 as well as the
start of 49ersFit which was sold in 2025 to LA Fitness. He also provides support to the team's
chief financial officer on special projects.
Kundu started with the 49ers in 2013, providing legal and strategic management on establishing
people operations for the team and its new entities. He also scaled the business and stadium
operations staff by over tenfold in preparation for opening Levi's Stadium.
Prior to this, Kundu was at Morgan Lewis and Fisher & Phillips, where he represented and
counseled Fortune 500 companies in finance, technology, and retail industries. He also worked
for several years for CGI Group, providing strategic advice related to technology and operations
for some of its largest clients in the U.S.
Kundu received a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and economics from the University
of California at Berkeley and a J.D. from USC's Gould School of Law.
A New Jersey native, Kundu lives with his wife, Megan, and their daughters, Ilika, Ahana and
Siona, in Mountain View, CA.
