Walsh Named HS Coach of the Week

49ers Name Coach Patrick Walsh of Serra H.S. Coach of the Week


The San Francisco 49ers Charlie Wedemeyer Coach of the Week award presented by Kelly-Moore Paints for week seven goes to Patrick Walsh from Serra High School in San Mateo.

This past Friday night, the Padres upset top-ranked Bellarmine College Prep 31-23, in a showdown that attracted nearly 6,000 fans at San Jose City College.

Quarterback Cody Jackson, the 6'0" 200-pound senior led the Padres to the victory. Even though he had a sore ankle, he rushed 13 times for 84 yards and scored 3 touchdowns. He was also 8-of-14 passing for 86 yards.

In addition to being named Coach of the Week, Coach Walsh and the Serra football program will now receive $1,000 from the 49ers Foundation, along with a $500 gift certificate from Kelly-Moore Paints to go towards beautifying Serra High School.
