The San Francisco 49ers announced that Tim Ryan has joined the team's official radio broadcast as the color analyst alongside Voice of the 49ers Ted Robinson. An accomplished analyst and former NFL player, Ryan has served as the color analyst for the 49ers preseason television broadcast each of the past three seasons, and is recognized nationally for his current role as a Westwood One Radio analyst and his former roles as a NFL on FOX analyst (2002-2013) and a SiriusXM NFL Radio host (2004-2013).
"We are absolutely thrilled that Tim will be joining our broadcast team as we enter a new era of 49ers football at Levi's® Stadium," said 49ers President Paraag Marathe. "His deep Bay Area roots and football acumen make him an ideal fit for the organization and our Faithful fans. As we strive to develop new and exciting avenues to bring 49ers football to our fans, both Ted and Tim will contribute greatly to all facets of our multi-media content and fan outreach. By pairing Ted and Tim, we are excited to offer our fans the most accomplished radio broadcast team in the NFL."
Ryan replaces 49ers alum Eric Davis, who spent the last three seasons in the booth with Robinson. Davis continues to serve as an in-studio host for NFL AM, the NFL Network's daily morning show.
"We'd like to thank Eric for his dedication and service to the 49ers organization," said 49ers President Paraag Marathe. "Eric has been and will always be a member of the 49ers family, and we wish him continued success as he pursues his television career at the NFL Network."
The dynamic duo of Robinson and Ryan will provide Faithful fans with 49ers content seven days a week. Not only will fans be able to enjoy their commentary during the team's radio broadcasts, but they will be frequent contributors to 49ers Studios programming that will be aired by our local partnered television affiliates and on 49ers.com. Ted and Tim will also host major 49ers events, such as the team's Draft Day Party and Fan Fest.
"Tim Ryan's work on NFL Radio has, for years, been a constant accompaniment during my countless hours on the road," said Ted Robinson. "Like Eric, Tim has taught me a great deal about the NFL. Now his instruction and insight will continue face-to-face. I know Tim will be a terrific asset to 49ers broadcasts and all media platforms, and, like Eric, will be an excellent broadcast partner."
"I thoroughly enjoyed three terrific seasons in the booth with Eric, both personally and professionally," said Robinson. "His work on NFL Network is proof of his growth as a broadcaster, and I know it will enable him to continue to be around Levi's® Stadium and the 49ers."
