In anticipation of the 49ers upcoming game in London against the Denver Broncos on October 31, 2010, quarterback Alex Smith has been invited to serve as a studio guest analyst for BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) on Super Bowl Sunday.

Smith will be breaking down the game between the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts, as well as discussing the 2010 Halloween match-up at Wembley Stadium. He will also conduct a media tour in London in the days leading up to the Super Bowl.

"I'm definitely excited to go over to London and not only represent the 49ers, but the NFL as well," said Smith. "I think it will be a fun opportunity to do a little broadcasting work for the Super Bowl, while also having a chance to build anticipation for our game next year against the Broncos. I know our team is excited for the opportunity to play in front of our fans overseas."

In addition, a team of 49ers cheerleaders are heading to London to perform at the NFL's official London Super Bowl party, an event that will be attended by more than 2,000 fans.
