San Francisco 49ers Tight Ends to Hold Autograph Signing Event to Raise Money for Local Charity

Do you like autographs?

Do you like the San Francisco 49ers?

If you said "Yes" to both questions, there's an upcoming event that is perfect for you!

On Sunday, June 7th, the tight ends on the 49ers roster will hold an autograph signing event in San Jose, Calif. Third-year pro Garrett Celek has organized the autograph session to raise funds for an upcoming missionary trip to Nicaragua through the Church on the Hill.

"It's all about giving back," McDonald said. "My wife and I have a great opportunity with our church here. They have an awesome program in Nicaragua that is developed with local farmers and a bunch of communities down there. We're trying to raise some money on to get some supplies resources to them."

McDonald and his wife, Kendi, will be spending two weeks in Nicaragua starting on June 15th to join the Chuch on the Hill's mission.

"We're going to build a school this year," McDonald said. "We're going to hold a vacation bible school for a bunch of the kids and we're going to go on a mission. It'll be a great trip."

But in order to help build that school, the 49ers tight ends will be looking to raise money this weekend.

For the price of $15, fans can get an autograph from all eight of the team's tight ends (McDonald, Vernon Davis, Derek Carrier, Garrett Celek, Asante Cleveland, Xavier Grimble, Blake Bell and Busta Anderson).

McDonald was touched to receive such tremendous support from his teammates on this cause.

"Going into my third year, I couldn't be more fortunate to have the relationships I've built with the tight ends we have here," McDonald said. "I had no hesitation going up to them, knowing that they would help, so this Sunday we'll have all eight of us at the church offering autographs and pictures. It'll be a really fun time." A $30 donation is good for a professional group photo with all of the tight ends. (*Note: there are a limited number of photo opportunities available).

*Cash and credit cards will be accepted. There's also silent auction items available.

"We welcome anyone to come," McDonald said. "There will be an open donation if someone feels inclined to donate and we just love all the 49ers fans out there. We want to have a great time, raise the right kind of money and do the right kind of work." Full information can be found on this Instagram post from McDonald:
