San Francisco 49ers Draft Utah RB Joe Williams

Check out the new names on the 49ers roster, in order of where they were taken in the 2017 NFL Draft.

John Lynch is a trading machine. His sixth deal of the 2017 NFL Draft and second on Day 3 alone moved the San Francisco 49ers up to pick No. 121 in the fourth round. For the pick, the 49ers gave the Indianapolis Colts pick Nos. 143 and 161.

With the 121st overall pick, the 49ers took Utah running back Joe Williams.

Williams posted monster numbers for the Utes in 2016 with 1,407 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. He also had an impressive postseason showing in the Foster Farms Bowl at Levi's® Stadium. Williams ran for 222 yards and one touchdown to earn the game's MVP honors.

"I don't think words do enough justice to describe how ecstatic I am," Williams said on a conference call. "It was a journey to get here. This is a real world moment right now. I'm taking it in. Emotions are everywhere. I'm proud to be a part of this organization and I can't wait to fly out there and get to work."

The draft pick came on the heels of San Francisco's trade for Denver Broncos running back Kapri Bibbs. The competiton is certainly growing in the 49ers backfield.
