With the 95th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers bolstered their secondary with Southern Miss safety Tarvarius Moore.

Moore (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) played two seasons at Southern Miss and posted 104 total tackles with three interceptions. Mike Mayock said on NFL Network that Moore was a late riser in this year's draft. He just recently went back and watched tape of Moore and realized that he was a Day 2 prospect.

"This is a quintessential late riser," Mayock said. "He can run. He's got hips to open up and play deep middle. You realized right away that this guy can play.

Daniel Jeremiah astutely pointed out that Moore ran a 4.32-second 40-yard dash at his pro day. Lance Zierlein of NFL.com called Moore a premium athlete and said that the safety "possesses rare speed, length and explosiveness at the safety position, but his tape says he's not just a workout wonder." As far as Zierlein is concerned, the 49ers got a steal with Moore. Zierlein gave the defensive back a Round 2-3 grade.

There's a chance that John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan see him as a cornerback. That's likely to be a question asked of them during Friday night's press conference.
