Reggie Bush Active, Vernon Davis Inactive vs. Packers

The San Francisco 49ers offense will get a huge lift on Sunday as Reggie Bush will make his return to the lineup.

Bush injured his calf in the first quarter of the team's Week 1 game against the Minnesota Vikings, causing him to miss the last two contests against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals.

It's still an unknown how exactly Geep Chryst intends on deploying the versatile running back, but it's fair to assume Bush will have a significant role against the Green Bay Packers. In addition to carrying the football and catching passes out of the backfield, Bush said on Friday that he still wants to be in the mix as punt returner.

Conversely, tight end Vernon Davis is inactive with a knee injury. On the season, Davis has eight receptions for 109 yards. Garrett Celek is back in the lineup and will start in place of Davis after missing one game with a knee injury.

Garrett Celek and Blake Bell can also expect to see an increase in his absence.
