Kickers get the glory, too.

Or at least the hardware.

Phil Dawson was named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Week on Tuesday morning, in the wake of his Week 17 performance in Arizona.

Dawson nailed three of four field goal attempts in the 49ers win over the Cardinals. His season-long 56-yarder tied the score, and his game-winning 40-yarder came with two seconds left on the clock.

Dawson hooked his second attempt of the game, a 24-yarder, to snap his franchise record streak of 27 consecutive makes.

He finished his first year in San Francisco with the second most points (140) and field goals (32-of-36) in the team's history.

Previously receiving the conference's honor for his Week 14 effort, when he connected on three three-point tries at Tampa Bay, Dawson should be ready to kick in Green Bay, during a first-round playoff game against the Packers. Although he has never played in the postseason, he kicked for 14 seasons in Cleveland.
