He's a Cowboys fan, but that's not stopping him from rooting on a fellow native of Cleveland, Ohio. NBA superstar LeBron James congratulated his friend Donte Whitner last night after the 49ers 23-10 win over the Panthers and said he's supporting San Francisco's quest to win a sixth Super Bowl title.
"I want him to win it all," James wrote in a tweet directed at the 49ers hard-hitting safety.
Whitner replied, "Much love."
"@KingJames: Congrats to my homie @DonteWhitner on the game clinching INT and W! Since my Cowboys out I want him to win it all!" {much love} — DonteHitner (@DonteWhitner) January 12, 2014
Another NBA All-Star saw James' social media post and chimed in. It was Houston Rockets guard James Harden, a long-time 49ers supporter.
"I like the way you talkin right now," Harden replied to James. "You might as well put on a 49er jersey lol."
James, the proud Cowboys fan, said he wouldn't go that far.
"I had a Niners Starters jacket with the pocket in the front when I was younger," James said back.
@JHarden13 I ain't going that far even though I had Niners Starters jacket with the pocket in the front when I was younger — LeBron James (@KingJames) January 12, 2014
