Kaepernick Up for FedEx Air Award

Colin Kaepernick is one of three nominees for the Week 1 FedEx Air Player of the Week award.

The 49ers quarterback completed 27 of 39 passes for a career-high 412 yards and three touchdowns in San Francisco's Week 1 victory over the Green Bay Packers. Kaepernick led the 49ers from behind the fourth quarter to beat the Packers at home, 34-28.

San Francisco's third-year signal-caller had an outstanding debut to the 2013 season. He also set the franchise record for most passing yards on Opening Day.

In addition to Kaepernick, a pair of former NFL MVPs, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees, round out the FedEx Air nominees.

Manning took the NFL world by storm on Thursday by throwing seven touchdown passes in a win over the Baltimore Ravens. Brees threw a pair of touchdowns and completed 26 of 35 passes for 357 yards in a win over the Atlanta Falcons.

All three passers can make cases for taking home the Week 1 honor, but the fans have the final say in who wins.
