Eric Reid and Lawrence Okoye Host Social Takeover

During a matchup of international soccer heavyweights FC Barcelona and Manchester United, San Francisco 49ers safety Eric Reid and defensive lineman Lawrence Okoye let their allegiances be known.

Reid, whose younger brother Ryan is a Manchester United fan, supported Barcelona. Okoye stayed true to his English routes, cheering for Man United.

And if you follow the 49ers on social media, you most likely saw their reaction to the matchup at Levi's® Stadium live.

Reid took over the 49ers Twitter, Facebook and "officialSF49ers" Snapchat accounts while Okoye ran the show for NFL UK.

Manchester United earned a 3-1 victory thanks to goals by Wayne Rooney, Jesse Lingard and Adnan Januzaj, but there were plenty of highlights on Saturday, as well as the rest of the week.

The 49ers met several players from Manchester United and FC Barcelona just days before their match. Offensive lineman Joe Staley also participated in the meet and greet with the winners of the UEFA Champions League, assisting his soccer counterparts with a helmet fitting. That was followed by a brief skills competition on the field… or pitch.

Enjoy these highlights from the week.
