Colt McCoy Signs with Washington Redskins

Colt McCoy has signed with the Washington Redskins. The veteran quarterback spent one season with the San Francisco 49ers as Colin Kaepernick's backup.

The 49ers acquired McCoy and an undisclosed draft pick on April 2 of 2013 for two undisclosed 2013 draft selections.

McCoy appeared in four games for San Francisco, completing his only pass attempt of the season for a 13-yard gain.

In four NFL seasons, three with the Browns and one with the 49ers, McCoy has completed 58.3 percent of his passes for 4,401 yards, with 21 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. McCoy has a career passer rating of 74.9.

The 49ers acquired another quarterback via trade in 2014, Blaine Gabbert. The team also has McLeod Bethel-Thompson on the current roster.
