49ers vs. Packers: Game Preview & Where to Watch

For the second time this season the San Francisco 49ers will host the Green Bay Packers, this time with a trip to Super Bowl LIV on the line. The playoff game takes place Sunday, January 19 at 3:40 p.m. Here's everything you need to know ahead of the NFC Championship game at Levi's® Stadium, presented by SAP.

Series Highlights

Sunday will mark the 49ers and Packers 69th matchup. Green Bay leads the series 36-31-1.

The 49ers and Packers have met in the playoffs seven times with the Packers holding a 4-3 advantage. The 49ers have won the last two playoff matchups.

49ers Notes

  • Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 12 victory over the Packers.
  • Running back Tevin Coleman rushed for 105 yards and two scores in the NFC Divisional Round win over the Minnesota Vikings.
  • Defensive lineman Nick Bosa had six tackles, two sacks and a pass defensed in the NFC Divisional Round victory over the Vikings. In the Week 12 matchup against the Packers, Bosa posted one sack and a fumble recovery.
  • Linebacker Fred Warner had a team-high 11 tackles and a forced fumble against the Packers in Week 12, which led him to be named NFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Packers Notes

  • Quarterback Aaron Rodgers passed for 243 yards and two touchdowns in the Packers 28-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Divisional Round.
  • Running back Aaron Jones has registered 21 scrimmage touchdowns (18 rushing, three receiving) including the postseason, the second-most in a single season in Packers history (RB Ahman Green - 22, 2003).
  • Linebacker Za'Darius Smith had 2.0 sacks last week against the Seahawks. He registered a career-high 13.5 sacks in 2019.
  • Linebacker Blake Martinez posted his ninth game this season with 10-plus tackles in the NFC Divisional Round victory.
