One day after the 49ers won their season opener 20-16 against the Arizona Cardinals, the celebration continued throughout the streets of downtown San Francisco.

On Monday afternoon, trolleys filled with the Gold Rush Cheerleaders, Niner Noise and Sourdough Sam spent hours driving around the city connecting with 49ers fans.

Niner Noise, the club's drum line, provided the excitement while Sourdough Sam and the Gold Rush tossed thousands of mini footballs out to eager bystanders.

"There are so many 49ers fans out there that are excited and ready for our home opener against Seattle, and we want to reach out to as many as possible," 49ers Vice President of Marketing Michael Williams said. "We truly appreciate all the support that the 49ers Faithful give us, and this was a fun way for us to give something back."

The packed trolleys drove through the financial district, embarcadero, fisherman's wharf, marina and Union Square areas of the city while people on the streets cheered and those in their cars honked their horns in support of the team.

This event was one of many the 49ers have planned for the week leading up to their home opener. The 49ers will face the Seattle Seahawks at Candlestick Park this Sunday at 1:05 p.m.

Some of the other events coming up this week will include:

• The San Francisco 49ers will completely renovate the EPA SOUL music room at the 49ers Academy in East Palo Alto on Tuesday. 49ers players will help revamp the music room to create a dynamic, functional and visually appealing space for the school's music program.  Additionally, the 49ers players will be installing tan bark and planting flowers and bushes in the common area immediately adjacent to the music room to enhance the overall environment at the school.

• 49ers players including Joe Jon Finley, Dashon Goldson, Marques Harris, Brian Jennings, Andy Lee, Adam Snyder, Joe Staley, Takeo Spikes, and Cody Wallace will be participating at the 49ers annual Partner Appreciation Golf Tournament held at Silver Creek Valley Country Club. 49ers alumni including Keena Turner, Guy McIntyre, Steve Bono, Eric Wright, Dwight Clark, Jesse Sapolu, and Gary Plummer along with 49ers play-by-play announcer Ted Robinson will also be participating in the tournament.  Sponsors attending include Anheuser-Busch, Samsung, Sprint, Bay Area News Group and Blue Diamond.

• The 49ers will have a presence at the 114th Annual Santa Cruz County Fair on Thursday. Sourdough Sam, Niner Noise and the Gold Rush will walk the fairgrounds with giveaways for 49ers fans.

• Gold Rush Cheerleaders will head to the Rivermark Shopping Center in Santa Clara on Friday with giveaways for 49ers fans.
