The San Francisco 49ers are hosting open auditions for the opportunity to join the 49ers 2011 Gold Rush Squad. The Gold Rush, presented by Coors Light, are one of the NFL's premiere performance groups. Preliminary auditions will be held on Sunday, March 27 at Maples Pavilion at Stanford University. Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. and auditions will start promptly at 11:00 a.m.

Applicants will be required to learn a short dance combination taught by a professional choreographer and perform that routine in a group in front of a panel of judges. They will be judged on dance ability, crowd appeal, showmanship and individual applications. At the end of the preliminary audition, a group of finalists will be selected.

Finalists selected on March 27 must be available for a finals prep class, interview and final dance audition during the week of March 30th – April 3rd.

Those interested in auditioning should click here to submit information in order to receive an application. All applications and application fees must be received, along with a 5x7 photo, by March 23, 2011.

*To prepare for these auditions, the Gold Rush Director will host workshops throughout March which will include a dance clinic, audition tips and an information packet. For detailed information about the workshops, visit 49ers.com or call (650) 336-1049.  *Over the past 28 years, the 49ers Cheerleaders have established a reputation as one of the NFL's premiere performance groups. The squad has been featured on many national television shows, performed for numerous USO tours around the world, and appeared in four Super Bowls. As a 2011 team member you can participate in these special events, cheer at each 49ers home game, work with our Junior Cheerleader program, participate in the annual swimsuit calendar photo shoot and more.
