49ers Sign WR Aaron Burbridge to the Practice Squad

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Tuesday that they have signed WR Aaron Burbridge to the team's practice squad.

Burbridge (6-1, 208) was originally the third of three sixth round (213th overall) draft picks by the 49ers in the 2016 NFL Draft. As a rookie in 2016, he appeared in all 16 games (three starts) and registered seven receptions for 88 yards along with 15 tackles on special teams. After spending the 2017 season on the Injured Reserve List, he was placed on the Injured Reserve List on September 2, 2018 and later waived/injured by the team on September 12.

A 24-year-old native of Farmington Hills, MI, Burbridge attended Michigan State University. In four years with the Spartans (2012-15), he played in 51 games (23 starts) and tallied 165 receptions for 2,174 yards and 10 touchdowns. His 165 career receptions ranked 2nd in school history, behind only WR B.J. Cunningham (218). In 2015, Burbridge was named the Richter-Howard Big Ten Receiver of the Year in addition to earning First-Team All-Big Ten and Honorable Mention All-America honors as he played in 14 games (13 starts) and led the Big Ten in receptions (85) and receiving yards (1,258) while adding seven touchdowns.
