The San Francisco 49ers announced on Monday they have signed T Shon Coleman to a one-year extension.
Coleman (6-5, 310) was originally acquired by the 49ers in a trade with the Cleveland Browns on August 31, 2018 and was inactive for each of the team's 16 games that season. In 2019, he was placed on the Injured Reserve List on August 12, where he spent the entire season. Throughout his four NFL seasons (2016-19), he has appeared in 23 games (16 starts).
A 28-year-old native of Olive Branch, MS, Coleman appeared in 32 games (25 starts) in five years (2011-15) at Auburn University. As a senior in 2015, he earned Second-Team All-SEC honors after starting 12 games at left tackle.
