The San Francisco 49ers signed guard Al Netter to the practice squad.

Netter (6-6, 310) originally entered the NFL in 2012 as an undrafted free agent with the 49ers. He spent the entire 2012 season on San Francisco's practice squad, only to be released on August 26, 2013, during training camp. He was later signed to the Tennessee Titans practice squad on September 2. Netter was released by the Titans on October 8.

A 24-year-old native of Rohnert Park, CA, Netter attended Northwestern University, where he tied the Wildcats school record for consecutive starts (52). He earned honorable mention All-Big Ten and Academic All-Big Ten honors, as a senior. Netter went to Newman High School in Santa Rosa, CA, where he was named First-Team All-North Coast Section and San Francisco Chronicle All-Metro.
