When Joe Staley was informed last month he'd be making a third consecutive trip to the Pro Bowl, he said he thought there were many deserving players.

But Staley is among the most deserving.

The Pro Football Writers of America thinks so, naming the 49ers left tackle to its All-NFL Team on Monday morning.

The PFWA also announced the All-AFC and All-NFC teams. San Francisco had three All-NFC honorees: Staley, outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks and safety Donte Whitner.

Nine clubs – the Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Philadelphia Eagles, St. Louis Rams, Seattle and Tampa Bay Buccaneers – each had two players on the All-NFL team. In all, 16 clubs are represented among the 27 players honored.
