There was plenty of excitement at the San Francisco 49ers annual Draft Day Party at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
The 5,000 people in attendance who signed up for the event on 49ers.com, were able to see the new 49ers uniform unveiling in person as well as the announcement of the 49ers first-round draft pick Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree on two large projection screens.
"The fact that the Niners got Michael Crabtree is awesome!" 49ers Faithful Mark Weiner said. "Jerry Rice was the greatest wide receiver and now, Crabtree is on his way!"
Head coach Mike Singletary and team president Jed York came over from 49ers headquarters to thank the pumped up crowd and also shared their thoughts on Crabtree.
The uniform unveiling, hosted by team radio broadcasters Ted Robinson and Gary Plummer preceded the announcement of the first-round pick.
After the uniform reveal and the selection of Crabtree, Patrick Willis, Joe Staley, Josh Morgan, Dashon Goldson, Moran Norris and other members of the 49ers signed autographs for the fans.
Among the other interactive booths setup for the Faithful within the center, Gold Rush Cheerleaders sold raffle tickets for new 49ers merchandise prizes with all proceeds benefiting the 49ers Foundation and Niners Noise performed for the crowd.
"My friends and I have been walking around and it's been pretty cool," 49ers Faithful Miguel Gonzalez said. "This is my first time coming to one of these, so I think it's pretty awesome."
The Draft Day Party had something for all ages, with inflatable youth football equipment setup for the kids in attendance.
Brand new 49ers merchandise including the new uniforms went on sale after the unveiling ceremony which several fans didn't hesitate to put rush over to purchase immediately.
"I just bought one of the brand new Frank Gore jerseys and I like it a lot. It's the old, classic style with a new twist to it," 49ers Faithful, Jack Earl said.
With redesigned uniforms and a talented playmaker added tothe team, the Draft experience was an extremely memorable one for the 49ers Faithful.
