49ers Hold Drive to Support Disaster Relief

In an effort to support Bay Area disaster relief including those affected by the San Bruno fire, the 49ers are partnering with the Red Cross during tonight's Monday night game against the New Orleans Saints. The two organizations will be reaching out to all 49ers fans to request cash donations from fans willing and able to give back to those in need during this state of emergency.

Volunteers from the Red Cross will be at all fan entry gates at Candlestick Park, including gates A, B, C, D, E and F, outfitted in white Red Cross shirts in order to be clearly identified by those wishing to aid the victims. Those wishing to donate can give a cash donation to any of the volunteers located at all entry gates.

Thanks to the generous support of the Bay Area community, the Red Cross was able to immediately activate relief efforts and help those affected by last week's gas line explosion in San Bruno, CA.  The San Francisco 49ers are asking fans to help those affected everyday by natural disasters, wildfires and other emergencies by making a donation to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief.  Fan are encouraged to text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation to American Red Cross Disaster Relief.  The donation will be added to their mobile phone bill or deducted from their prepaid account.  During Monday's game, this message will be displayed on the video board to encourage fans to make contributions.
