49ers Extend NT Ian Williams

The San Francisco 49ers have signed NT Ian Williams to a two-year contract extension through the 2015 season.

"We are very pleased to extend the contract of a young, talented player like Ian," said 49ers General Manager Trent Baalke. "He will have the opportunity to continue to grow in our defense, and we look forward to his future development. Paraag and Drew deserve credit for working hard to put this deal together."

Williams (6-1, 305) originally signed with San Francisco as an undrafted free agent in July of 2011, and went on the make the 53-man roster. He has played in four games and registered seven tackles over the past two seasons.

A 23-year old native of Altamonte Springs, FL, Williams played at Notre Dame where he tallied 161 tackles, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions and 13 tackles for loss in 45 career games.
