49ers Claim DT Taylor Hart; Waive S L.J. McCray

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Monday that they have claimed DT Taylor Hart off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles. In order to make room on the roster, the team waived S L.J. McCray.

Hart (6-6, 305) was originally drafted by the Eagles in the fifth round (141st overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. Last season, he appeared in 14 games (one start) and registered 30 tackles after being inactive for each game of his rookie season.

A 25-year-old native of Tualatin, OR, Hart attended the University of Oregon, where he appeared in 53 games and finished his career with 173 tackles, 16 sacks, 11 passes defensed, five forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. As a senior in 2013, he earned Second-Team All-Pac-12 honors after finishing with 75 tackles, 3.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. He also earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention honors during his sophomore and junior seasons (2011-12).
