49ers Bring WR Zeigler Up

The San Francisco 49ers announced Saturday that WR Dominique Zeigler has been signed from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. To make room on the roster for Zeigler, the 49ers waived T Kirk Barton.

Zeigler (6-3, 185) spent all of last year and the first half of this season on the 49ers practice squad after joining the team as a rookie free agent out of Baylor in May of 2007.

Barton was claimed off waivers by San Francisco on October 16 after being waived by Miami. He was originally a seventh-round draft pick by Chicago out of Ohio State in April of 2008.

The 49ers went through a lighter workout today. The team will conclude the work week with meeting and a walk-thru Sunday morning prior to a charter flight to the Phoenix area.

Kickoff on Monday from University of Phoenix Stadium is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. PT.
