49ers Acquire OL Jordan Devey in Trade

The San Francisco 49ers today announced they have agreed to a trade with the New England Patriots. The 49ers will acquire OL Jordan Devey in return for sending TE Asante Cleveland to the Patriots. Devey and Cleveland must both pass a physical for the trade to be executed.

Devey (6-6, 320) originally signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2013, and spent training camp with the team before being waived on August 30. He was signed to the Raven's practice squad on September 1, 2013, and was waived the following day. Devey was signed to the New England Patriots practice squad on September 3, 2013, where he spent the remainder of the season. In 2014 he saw action in seven games (four starts) along the offensive line for the Patriots.

A 27-year-old native of American Fork, UT, Devey played two seasons at Snow College (Ephraim, UT) before transferring to the University of Memphis. In his two seasons with the Tigers (2012-13), he started all 24 games he appeared in, earned Second-Team All-Conference USA honors in 2013, and started at left guard for the East team at the 2013 East-West Shrine Game.

Cleveland (6-5, 260) saw action in six games with the 49ers last season after originally signing with the team as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2014 where he spent the first portion of the season on the team's practice squad.
