BUILDING A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM
As chief executive officer of the San Francisco 49ers, Jed York oversees all aspects of the organization. Now in his 15th year with the team and 10th as CEO, York has been a driving force behind the 49ers success on and off the field during that time. York recognizes and shares the ongoing passion of the team’s faithful fans.
During York’s tenure, the team has experienced great success having won two NFC West Division titles, advanced to three consecutive NFC Championship Games and a Super Bowl. His strong leadership was also instrumental in providing the team and its fans a state-of-the-art new home. On April 19, 2012, the Santa Clara Stadium Authority broke ground on Levi’s Stadium and enlisted the 49ers to manage the construction process, which achieved a ribbon cutting just two years later.
Designed to set a new standard for the stadium experience, Levi’s Stadium has become known as one of the most iconic sports and entertainment venues in the world. The building has garnered international acclaim having been named 2015 Sports Venue of the Year by the Sports Business Journal and Venue of the Year at the 2015 StadiumBusiness Awards in Barcelona, Spain. Leveraging technology and sustainability, Levi’s Stadium has also generated international acclaim for its environmental responsibility. For its green innovation – inclusive of being the first NFL stadium to twice be LEED certified – Levi’s Stadium was named the 2016 Green Sports Alliance Environmental NFL Innovators of the Year and the 2017 StadiumBusiness Awards Environmental Stadium of the Year.
