The 49ers Foundation Mentorship Academy, supported by William V. Campbell Family Foundation, Dignity Health, and Chime, is a three-step program that is designed to provide traditional high school tackle and female flag football players with the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to succeed and be leaders on and off the field. Our partners at the Positive Coaching Alliance will lead a session on becoming young coaches, and students will go through rotations with the 49ers 2025-2026 rookie class. The high school captains are then provided the platform to take what they learned from the 49ers and become mentors in their local community. After proof of a successful community-focused initiative, athletes were then invited back for a game this season and entered into a pool to be the 2026 Unity Award Recipient.
The San Francisco 49ers Foundation is hosting its inaugural Student-Athlete Career Forum, Beyond the Game presented by BlackRock, bringing together local high school athletes from various sports. This event offers students the opportunity to hear from 49ers executives, connect with representatives from other Bay Area professional sports teams, and gain valuable insights into starting a career in sports. Topics will include personal branding, adapting to evolving industry trends, career readiness, and financial literacy. The forum aims to equip student-athletes with essential tools for success both on and off the field, helping them thrive in high school and beyond.
Each summer 49ers PREP and 49ers Flag host high school student-athlete(s) from across the Bay Area come to experience a 49ers Skills Camp. The camp offers multiple experiences for both entry- and elite-level rising 8th through 12th graders in both tackle and girls flag looking to fine-tune their game. On the field, participants compete against other Bay Area talent, and improve athletic skills through position-specific drills that are taught by 49ers alumni.
Each year, 49ers PREP Presented by U.S. Bank teams up with Nike to host the annual Nike 11-On. The one day event features a 7-on-7 tournament with local Bay Area high schools – allowing participants to work on team chemistry ahead of their high school football season.
